Summer Camp
Summer Camps are a reasonably new venture for us only starting two years ago. They have proved to be both exciting and rewarding for both children and staff. The intention was to allow children with special needs the chance to participate safely in a hazardous pursuit while living with and working with animals and learning about themselves. It also gives their medical practitioners a chance to work with them outside the normal clinical environment therefore seeing the children in a totally different light. This also allows their parents and carers a respite. They are usually a weeks duration and the week is split between practical riding, practical horse care, theory in the classroom and learning about their own condition. Relaxation is provided by visits, campfires, bar-b-ques, videos, art and creative writing. Camps are normally booked by clinics for particular conditions allowing them to bring their own staff but we usually find space for requests we get from individuals. You will find an
