Work Experience

If you would like to obtain some work experience from HRTC then you must;

• Be at least 12yrs of age
• Have a keen interest in horses
• Have basic knowledge of horses
• Be willing to have an interview

If you do not meet these requirements then we are unfortunately unable to accept you for work experience as this is a Health & Safety risk but if you are willing enough it is possible for you to book training sessions prior to you desired placement time, please refer to the Stable Management section of the price list that can be found here, at full cost to you.

HRTC is Solent Skills Approved and is classed as a high risk site so is checked every 2 years for things such as Electrics and Equipment. Everything is checked that promotes “Safety at Work” and we have passed as of 2010.

During your work experience you are entitled to 1 free riding lesson a week, 1 hour lunch break and 2×15 minute breaks. The choice of hours are either;

• 8:00am – 4:00pm
• 9:00am – 5:00pm
• 10:00am – 6:15pm
